SVA Day at Metlifecare

I am so very proud of Room 2 who showed kindness and empathy to all the residents at the Edgewater Metlifecare. We had morning tea with them, did a play, played board games and then helped them to do a Kahoot. The residents had the some beautiful words to say about all the Room 2 students. Well done Room 2. Metlifecare gave the school a Kowhai tree for the school which was so kind.

Classified Hangout

Room 2 had a Google Hangout with a country school somewhere in New Zealand. Both classes could only ask questions that had a Yes or No answer. The race was on to see who could find where the other class was first. We did win but the real learning was in the 20 mins conversation at the end, we connected with a class at Paihia School in the far north, Well done Room 2.

Problem Solving /Leadership Task

Room 2 in groups had the problem of getting Tennis and Table Tennis balls from a desk one and a half meters away from the sofa. They had to make a device in 40 mins to grab the balls in a small time frame of 2 mins. Our WALT for the task was" knowing when to be a leader and when to be a team member. Our Treaty Brainstorm

After all the challenges and fun we had, in the afternoon we started on the brainstorm to help us to develop our class treaty, we did really well.

Team Building Day

We had a wonderful day today going through our team building challenges. We were doing this to not just work as a team but to think about how our class treaty could look like and to get ideas for the treaty. We did a fantastic job and Mr Mac was very proud of us all. Enjoy the videos!!

Tent Practise For Camp

Today the Year 6 students practiced putting up and most importantly packing back down the camp tents. They were wonderful.....they may just survive camp after all.
